As Jean-Theirry Besins’s story goes, the Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco gave two gold bar pendants to very dear friends, Jean and Edith Besins. In 2012, Jean-Thierry Besins founded the luxury jewelry brand Bulliony to pay tribute to his family’s history. This season, the connection to his family’s heritage remains, but moves toward an entirely new love story. “All of the pieces are related to the same gold bar, which finds its origin in the two gold bar pendants given to my grandparents by Prince Rainier for their wedding, as the prince was their witness. All Bulliony pieces therefore pay tribute to this friendship and the love between my grandparents that lasted more than 65 years. There will always be a gold bar in my collections, so that there will always be a direct link to the story—on every piece.
“I get inspiration from everything that has a perfect sense of shape and great creativity,” he explains. Taking the elegant bullion shape and reinventing it as a sleek and sophisticated pendant, Besin’s beautifully simple pieces come in a broad variety of sizes and metals. Utilizing engraving, precious stones and a range of yellow, white, and black gold, each of Besin’s unique pendants are designed and handmade in Paris.
